What this site collects, and why.
The Tamarack is a privately owned vacation rental in Lakeside, Montana. This page describes the information this website actually handles — nothing more.
What you send us
The enquiry forms on the planning page ask for your name, email address, optional phone number, the dates and guest count you have in mind, the kind of trip it is, and anything you want to add. If you built an itinerary with the trip planner, the itinerary you chose is submitted with it. What you submit is stored in this site’s database so the owner can read it and respond about your enquiry. This site has no newsletter sign-up and does not add you to a mailing list.
The form also contains a hidden field and a timing check used only to block automated spam.
The on-site assistant
Questions you type into the chat assistant are sent to the AI service behind our hosting platform so an answer can be generated, and the answer is shown back to you in the chat. The chat is for trip questions; please do not type payment details or sensitive personal information into it.
Measurement
We measure how the site is used through a tag manager, using counts and labels only — for example which page type you were on, which topic it covered, and whether a booking link was clicked. Those measurement events never include your name, email address, phone number or exact street-level information. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal or Do Not Track, the site does not send measurement events at all.
If you arrive from an advertisement, an email or a link with campaign tags, those tags travel with you so we can tell which channel the visit came from. They are kept as a channel label, not a profile about you.
Other services involved
- Our website hosting and database platform stores the site and any enquiry you submit.
- Our tag manager and analytics provider receive the measurement events described above.
- Our booking platform runs the booking pages. When you click a booking link you leave this site and continue on that platform, where its own privacy terms and any reservation agreement apply.
- Video, map and event links may open third-party sites, each with its own privacy practices.
Where enquiries are stored
Enquiries you submit are stored in this site’s database, hosted by the platform this site runs on. A published retention schedule is not yet part of this page.
Your choices about measurement
You can block measurement in your browser, or use its Global Privacy Control setting; the site then sends no measurement events. You can also choose not to submit an enquiry form, and not to type anything into the chat assistant.
Children
This site is intended for adults planning a stay. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
